“Abide in Jesus”
You may know that, at some-times and in some-places, for no apparent reason, Google Maps unnecessarily says to “continue straight” on the same route. Jesus’s command, “Abide in Me”, to His disciples at first listen might seem to be equally unnecessary.
“The Church’s ‘birthday’ means gifts for you”
While there are varieties of gifts, there is only one Spirit and only one Baptism. That there is only one Baptism is hard to hold in the face of so much opinion to the contrary among other religious traditions so prevalent in East Texas.
“Marriage points us to God’s grace”
God’s relationship to His people is mysteriously reflected in marriage, and, as Jesus laid down His life for the Church, and the Church submits to Him, so a husband should lay down his life for his wife, and his wife should submit to him.
The mission of Pilgrim Lutheran Church is to glorify God by receiving the forgiveness of sins by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and sharing that salvation through word and deed with those in our midst, in our community, and throughout the world.
